ABC News and NBC News have have announced that they plan to offer on-demand audio podcasts of their news programs. ABC is offering Good Morning America and Nightline podcasts, and plans to offer others soon. NBC is planning to podcast hourly news updates starting in June, along with segments from programs like Today and the NBC Nightly News. Clearly, the television networks are trying to recycle their news content for a mobile audience to derive additional advertising revenue. In the future, they may have podcast-only content as well.
