AOL and XM Joining Forces for Online Radio

April 11, 2005

AOL and XM Satellite Radio are creating a free Internet radio service, which is designed to replace other Internet radio services currently offered by both companies. The free service will combine 130 radio stations on the AOL network with 20 stations from the XM network. An enhanced version with 70 XM stations will cost around $5 per month for users on the Internet, while AOL members will have access to it free of charge. The service is expected to go online this summer.
