Early Review of the Nikon D50 Digital SLR April 22, 2005 Nikon is about to release the Nikon D50, an affordable digital SLR based on the popular Nikon D70. Digital Photography Review has published a detailed preview of the product. Besides for costing less than the Nikon D70, the Nikon D50 is smaller, lighter, and easier to use. It also has enhanced autofocus when used with motion tracking. The Nikon D50 uses SD memory cards, unlike the Nikon D70, which uses CF memory cards.
