According to GameIndustry.biz, Microsoft and Sony are both set to announce their new consoles on May 16th, only hours apart. According to news reports and speculation, the PS3 will use a Cell CPU, an NVIDIA graphics processor, and Blu-Ray discs, while the Xbox 2 will use a PowerPC CPU, an ATI graphics processor, and DVD discs. The official names of both consoles have yet to be announced.
